This story is strange enough, and told well enough, that it could become bigger than folks might expect.

Interfaith Adventures of a Non-Traditional Marriage

Our Baptist-Hindu match has been just strange enough to work. Fred and I have survived three years of interfaith living—navigating everything from what we’d eat to where we’d worship. We’ve prayed in temples across the world and endured heated theological arguments in our own living room. At the end of this month, we’ll travel to New York City to promote Saffron Cross: The Unlikely Story of How a Christian Minister Married a Hindu Monk at the BookExpo of America (BEA).

We can’t wait for you to hold our journey in your hands!

BookExpo of America

Thanks to the gracious invitation of Upper Room Books, Fred and I will be at the BEA Abingdon Press/Upper Room Books booth (1064), on Thursday, May 30th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Drop by, ask questions, and get your signed advanced reader copy of Saffron Cross. We’d love to meet you; we’ll be the Baptist minister in a clergy robe and the Hindu in a dhoti. You won’t be able to miss us—we’ll look at lot like this:

Curiosity Doesn’t Kill the Christian … or Hindu

Ever wanted to know how someone who is unabashedly Christian fell for a devout Hindu? Curious about what it takes to compromise east-meets-west practices? Want to know when the stuff really hits the fan? You’ll discover it all—the good, bad, and the very ugly—in Saffron Cross.
