Saffron Cross Book Cover

The Saffron Cross book cover has arrived!

The cover was designed by Upper Room Books, and features a photo of us taken by Franklin Golden last summer at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Cary, NC.

In the photo, Fred and I are each in our tradition’s dress for ordained persons. I’m wearing my black clergy robe and stole; Fred is wearing a kurta (shirt) and dhoti (large piece of cloth draped into pants) and carrying his japa bead bag. This was what he wore each day at Audarya monastery when he served as a brahmachari (monk).

We love this cover because it captures the essence of Saffron Cross: two ordained persons from intrinsically different religions navigating an interfaith marriage with love.

Thank you all for your continued interest and support for Saffron Cross. We hope you’ll subscribe to the blog, follow us on Twitter, and keep reading!

Saffron Cross: The Unlikely Story of How a Christian Minster Married a Hindu Monk will be available from Upper Room Books in October of 2013.
